1930's Mickey Mouse Lunch kit Rare original vintage Disney memorabilia. Offered for sale is a very rare original 1930's Mickey Mouse Lunch Kit. Made by the Geuder, Paeschke & Frey Company. Measures 8.25 x 5.25 x 5 inches. This rare lunch pail is the first ever licensed character metal lunch box featuring a cartoon character.
This started the lunchbox boom that happened in the 1950's when TV's and TV shows increased in popularity. The Wrap-around scene on the sides of this pail features Mickey Mouse and his nephews, Minnie, Horace, Clarabelle, Clara Cluck, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck. The top lid is removable, and has two metal handles that wrap over the lid, used to carry the lunchbox.
Includes the separate inner tray, which is almost always missing when this rare lunch kit is found. The base of the box is embossed'Handy' Company with a patent number. Please see all the photos below.
Condition: Overall fair to good condition. The sides of the pail are in good condition with the litho wrap-around graphics still strong. Some corrosion on the inner rim in the base of the lunchbox.
